Dr. Oz 5 Things Men Don't Want You To Know

5 Secrets Your Husband Doesn't Want You To Know

October 24, 2011 Dr. Oz Show

Dr. Oz 5 Things Men Don't Want You To Know
Today Dr. Oz had on five husbands to tell their innermost secrets that they do not want their wives to know.  To assist with the show Dr. Oz had on sex expert Laura Berman. He asked her why having secrets can affect a relationship.  Dr. Berman said that having secrets in a relationship builds up walls regarding your intimacy.  The more secrets that you need the harder it is for both spouses to get their needs met.

Dr. Oz asked Dr. Turner why would these husbands have secrets that they don't want their wives to find out about.  Dr. Turner said that men aren't raised to talk about sex, intimacy, and their emotions.  He said that most men would just rather avoid conversations about intimacy altogether.

Top 5 Things Men Don't Want You To Know

#5 I'm Worried That You Are Turning In To Your Mother

Dr. Turner says that sometimes couples start to get too comfortable in their relationship.  Once you get past the infatuation stage it is often normal for this to happen.  Growing up we often model ourselves with what we saw while we were growing up.  We do this on both a conscious and subconscious level.

#4 I'm Overwhelmed By The Idea Of Being With Her Forever

The second husband said that the "Idea" of being with his wife forever is overwhelming. Dr. Laura Berman says that monogamy doesn't come naturally to us. We didn't used to live long after our reproductive years. Now we are living much longer and it can be overwhelming to look at the whole picture. Dr. Turner recommends hugging your spouse for 30 seconds or longer when this happens. He said that studies show that this releases the "cuddling hormone" and can make this feeling go away.

Dr. Oz (who has been married for 26 years) told the couple that you have to reinvent yourself over the course of your entire marriage.  He said that you can't be the same person 20 years from now as what year are today.  He says that if you never evolve in a relationship it's never going to work.  If you can reinvent the relationship over the course of time it's almost as if you are marrying different people.  Dr. Oz says that he has been married to four different women.  They different women just happened to have the same social security # and birth certificate.

#3  I Don't Know What I'm Doing "Down There"

The third husband revealed that he thinks that he doesn't know what he is doing "down there."  The wife was caught by surprise by this. She says that he does a fine job in that aspect of their sex life. Dr. Turner said that when it comes to that department men are often "Ill-cliterate". He said that it is of no fault to the men, it's just that there is often a lack of sex education in that area. He said that most of orgasm producing nerve endings are located in areas that are exposed. With just a little female understanding any man can become "Clitterate".

Dr. Laura Berman says that communication is key. You can't assume that the men knows what he is doing down there.  With just a little guidance sex can be more enjoyable for both partners.

#2 I Am Jealous Of My Single Friends

The "Soon To Be" husband said that he is jealous of his friends single lifestyle and the freedom associated with being single.  He said that he is envious of how his single friends can go out and not have anyone to have to answer to.

Dr. Berman said that there really isn't anything to be jealous of.  She said that studies have shown that married men actually have more sex and also live longer than single men.

Dr. Turner believes that independence is very important in a marriage. He says that the strongest marriages that he has come across allows for the spouses to have their independence. He thinks that you should still be allowed to go out and enjoy many of the things that single people enjoy.

#1 I Watch More Porn Than You Know

The husband says that watching porn from "professionals" helps him to learn how to have sex better.  Dr. Laura Berman says that do not get your "sex education" from watching porn.  It is geared towards men (Dr. Oz audience gave an applause to this). What you are seeing on a porno is rarely what turn a woman on.  She also said that men masterbate frequently and they like the visual stimulation that porn provides them.  She said that if a man says that he doesn't masterbate, Dr. Berman said that you can be assured at a 99% accuracy that he isn't telling the truth and that he does masterbate.

Dr. Oz, National Sex Survey, Sex Life, Libido, Foreplay Questions

Dr Oz's National Sex Survey - Sex Life, Libido, and Foreplay Questions

October 14, 2011

Dr. Oz National Sex Survey, Libido, Foreplay
On today's show Dr. Oz revealed the results of the National Sex Survey that they conducted and some of the results may shock you. He asked the audience of women when was the last year that they had "mind blowing" sex. The years varied throughout the audience but none of them said 2011. The survey said that 59% of women are faking orgasm and 70% of women prefer to have sex with the lights off. 80% of the survey participants said that their best sex was in their 20's and 30's.

Dr. Oz noticed that a woman from the audience had "1985" on her t-shirt (which displayed the last year she had great sex) and he asked her why she hasn't had great sex in so long. She said that she thinks it is because of stress. Back in 1985 she was 21 years old and didn't have the daily life stresses that she has had ever since.

Many of the women in Dr. Oz's audience don't think they are sexy anymore and that their best years are behind them. Dr. Oz said that this way of thinking needs to be changed and today he is going to show you some ways to bring great sex back into your life.

Here are some of the National Sex Survey results that they revealed on the show.

Would you like more or less sex in your life than what you are having now?

  • 93% want more sex
  • 7% Want less sex
Dr. Oz had on an OB/GYN and medical news correspondent, Jennifer Ashton, and asked her why many women aren't satisfied with their sex life.  She said that the National Sex Survey showed that the three main areas that women aren't satisfied with are :
  • Their foreplay
  • Their libido
  • Their partner

How long would you like foreplay to last?

  • 58% said 10-30 minutes (Dr. Oz said that hew was speechless when he heard the results to this. He said "men listen up" because he had no idea that women wanted this much foreplay.
  • 35% said 5-10 minutes of foreplay
  • 7% said over 30 minutes of foreplay

What Is Your Favorite Aphrodisiac?

  • 36% Wine
  • 35% Having partner help around the house
  • 14% Scented candles
  • 13% Chocolate
  • 2% Oysters
Dr. Jennifer Ashton said that spices in your home (to be eaten and not put in genital areas!) can help improve blood flow. Also Korean Red Ginseng has been shown to increase your libido. She then said that stiletto's can engage the muscles in a woman's pelvic floor and this can improve your sex life!

How would you describe the state of your libido?

  • 52% Average
  • 27% Better than ever
  • 21% Nonexistent

Is sex ever painful?

  • 53% All or some of the time
  • 47% Never
Dr. Jennifer Ashton said that vaginal dryness is the biggest culprit to this problem. She said that most women just reach for vaginal lubrication products as the first remedy for this problem. She said that she thinks this is one of the worst things that you can do.  She said that there are many chemical irritants in over the counter lubrication products that can do more harm than good.  Dr. Ashton recommends that following ways to improve lubrication problems :
  1. Saliva
  2. Safflower Oil
  3. Vaginal Estrogen
Dr. Oz asked Jennifer Ashton what women can do. She said that the most important thing women can do is to communicate with your partner and your doctor if you are having libido issues or problems in your sex life.

Dr. Ashton also recommends using a vibrator. She said a generation ago this may have been taboo but not anymore. She said that it is great for nerves, blood flow, and inexpensive!

Who tends to initiate sex?

  • 58% of women wait for their partner to initate sex
Dr. Oz gave the women a tip.  When guys itch their nose it may mean that they are ready for sex.  The reason being is that when a man is aroused and blood flows to his penis it also flows to the tissues in the nose and this causes it to itch.

Does size really matter?

  • 57% No
  • 43% Yes
Dr. Ashton says that it's all about knowing how to please a woman and knowing how to use what they've got.

5 Ways To Recharge Your Body

October 12, 2011

Dr. Oz asked his viewers to tell him what you are most afraid of losing. Viewers responded by the 1000's!!  Dr. Oz took the top 5 complaints and came up with a plan.  These are the top 5 things that the viewers are most afraid of losing. Looks, energy, sex drive, memory,

Elevate Your Senses

Day #1 Sense of touch - Dr. Oz had on a guest who said that her senses have diminished as she has grown older. He said that thousands of others had this same complaint.  Dr. Oz said that your nerves need proper insulation to function properly. He recommends Vitamin B 12 to help with this problem (10MCG Daily.)

Dr. Oz 5 Ways To Recharge Body, Libido, Skin, Sex LifeSense of taste - Dr. Oz told the the guest who appeared on this segment that people who have gained weight, their taste buds don't appreciate the sense of taste as much.  If you are lacking in the sense of taste this can mean you have a zinc deficiency. Dr. Oz recommends 15 mg of zinc everyday. He said that your sense of taste will begin to be restored in 2-3 weeks.

Sense of smell - there is a taste test that everyone can take. Use a small square alcohol packet and open it at waist level. See if you can smell it at this level.  Then move the alcohol swab closer to your nose and notice when you can smell it.  If you can smell it when it is 8-12 inches away this is normal. If you have to get the alcohol towelette closer than that then it is not normal.  Dr. Oz said that there is a supplement that will help a lot if your sense of smell has deteriorated.  He recommends Alpha Lipoic Acid (600 mg daily) to help if your sense of smell has diminished.

Dry Skin and Wrinkles

Day #2 of Dr. Oz's 5 day plan to recharge your body is to spice up your skin. He said that there are two spices that when combined together are great for improving dry skin and removing wrinkles. They are nutmeg and cinnamon.  He said to Brew 2 cups of cinnamon and nutmeg to use as a body wash.  Nutmeg works to turn of the cells in your body that make the pigments (will help improve your "glow).  The cinnamon helps by plumping up your skin. This will help reduce your fine lines and wrinkles.  To make the brew use 6 teaspoons of cinnamon and nutmeg. Put the cinnamon and nutmeg in a coffee filter and brew two cups.

Sex Life and Libido Problems

Day #3 in Dr. Oz's plan to recharge your body is to "Spark up your sex life." A woman was featured who said that in the past few years her libido has diminished. She said that her husband is always "in the mood" and she rarely is. She asked Dr. Oz if he could help improve their sex life.  He said that your hormone levels have a lot to do with your libido and sex life.  Dr. Oz set out 6 food on the table with a line down the middle. He said that 3 of the foods are good for your sex life, and three of the foods are bad for your sex life.  The foods that she had to choose from were pears, garlic, coffee, anemone, sauerkraut, and watermelon.  The three helpful foods are :

Foods to improve your sex life and libido
  • Watermelon - Pears and water mellon has an amino acid that increases blood flow to the genetalia.
  • Pears -
  • Garlic - Has a chemical called allicin in it that works by opening your blood vessels and improving blood flow.
Foods that are bad for your sex life and libido
  • Anemone - Dr. Oz said that anemone's are good for you but there are phytoestrogens in soy.  This can distrupt the hormonal ration of testosterone (the libido giving formula in women too) and estrogen. He did say that you have to consume quite a bit of them for this to be a problem.
  • Coffee - Dr. Oz said that the problem with coffee is that it spikes the stress hormone cortisol.  He said that there is nothing like cortisol that will destroy your libido.
  • Sauerkraut - Dr. Oz said that a serving of sauerkraut is loaded with salt so that is why it was listed as a "bad food" for your sex life. However, he said that if you wash the salt off it is not.

Joint pain and mobility problems

Dr. Oz said he was very surprised at the amount of people that have problems with joint pain and mobility problems.  He said in your joints you may have cartilage rubbing against bone continuously. As you age your cartilage can wear away.  He suggests Arniflora Gel to help with joint pain.  Rub it on to your knee (or where you are having joint pain) and wrap it up with an ace bandage if possible.

Age Of Your Vagina & Penis, Sex Life, and Real Age Test

As Seen on the September 28, Dr. Oz Show

Dr. Oz Age Of Your Penis Or Vagina Sex Test
Did you know that your private parts can age at a faster rate than you do?  What happens to your sexual organs can be a big indicator of what is happening inside of your body.  What internal functions can affect the age of your private parts?
  • Internal body factors like your blood pressure can lower your libido.
  • Hormonal imbalances can painful sex.
  • Plaque in your arteries can cause problems like erectile dysfunction.
  • Too much stress can prematurely age your penis and your vagina
Today's show was all about how you can improve your sex life after the age of 40. Find out how you can turn back the hands of time on your sexual organs.

The Vagina In Your 20's and 30's

Dr. Oz brought on a three sex experts to help explain what sexual problems adults face after the age of 40.  Gynecologist Dr. Jane ashtion said that during your 20's is the prime time for the vagina. Hormonally it is at its optimum levels and lubrication isn't usually a problem.

The Penis In Your 20's and 30's

Dr. Mark Moyad said that men are at their peak in their 20's and 30's. He said that when men experience morning erections this is a good thing.  What are morning erections a symptom of? It means that blood flow, circulation, and your hormone levels are healthy. Also neurologically your brain and penis are working in harmony during this time in a man's life.

What Happens To Your Vagina In Your 40's and 50's

Dr. Oz explained how your vagina lowers closer to your pelvic floor during your 40's and 50's and this can effect a woman's enjoyment levels of sex. Laura Bernan said that one way you can avoid this from happening is through exercise. She said that just like every other muscle in your body your vagina also needs exercise to keep it from getting weak. She suggests kegal exercises as a great way to strengthen your vaginal muscles.

What Happens To The Penis After 40?

Dr. Mark Moyad told Dr. Oz what he tells his patients.  "Heart Health Equals Penis Health."  When men reach their 40's their blood pressure tends to go up which affects blood flow to the penis.  A bigger gut / belly also blocks the blood flow.  So it's also "Heart Unhealthy Equals Penis Unhealthy."  Dr. Oz said that all of these changes that happen are directly associated with our lifestyles.

Real Age Test Of Your Sex Organs

Dr. Oz brought the couple over to the "Truth Tube" to see the results of the Real Age Test of their sexual organs that they did before the show.

Sex Drive

  • They first revealed the couple's BMI (Body Mass Index).  The husband's was 39. Dr. Oz said that you should want your BMI closest to 25 as possible.  The BMI of the wife was 33.  He said that fat cells excrete hormones that affect testosterone and estrogen levels.  To put it bluntly, they take away your sex drive.
  • The couple was also asked how many hours of sleep they got.  If your tired your not going to be in the mood for sex. They both were getting inadequate amounts of sleep. The husband was only getting around 3 hours of sleep.  The wife was only getting 6 hours. Dr. Oz says that your goal should be 7 1/2 hours of sleep.
Sexual Satisfaction

  • Fasting Blood Glucose (Sugar) Level - Dr. Oz had the couple have their blood sugar levels tested. The husband's glucose level was 105.  The wife's sugar level was 98. The husband was considered pre-diabetic. The wife is borderline diabetic.  Dr. Oz said that he sugar hurts the nerves. The endings of our sexual organs are full of nerve endings. When they are damaged by high blood sugar they aren't going to function as well.
The Results of the Real Age Test Results Of The Wife and Husband

The wife's actual age is 43 years old. The results of hher real life age test of her vagina was 73. The husband's (41 years old) real age of his penis was 79 years old.  The results were a 30 and 38 year difference for the wife and husband.

Dr. Oz said that the good news is that all of the real age test results are reversible.  He said that you can turn back the hands of time for your sexual organs.  3 thinks that Dr. Oz wants you to do are :
  • Get more sleep, Dr. Oz told them to go to bed one hour earlier each night. He said that more sleep will increase the husbands testosterone levels.
  • Zinc - Take 8 milligrams per day is linked to increased hormone function.
  • Set a date weekly to have sex.
